As we know, in both Freehand and Illustrator, 'space + command' zooms in, while 'space + command + option', zooms out. Recently, 'S+C+O' has stopped working (tho 'S+C' still works to zoom in). This has happened in both applications on both a dualG4 and an iBook.
It would seem that at some point I changed a setting to create this problem. Although both boot volumes and user folders are separate and distinct, I do attempt to duplicate the user experience on both machines by matching settings, hacks, icons, desktops, etc.
I've done a 'safe boot', tuned off all hackies and restarted, looked thu system preferences, so far to no avail. Using FUS I logged in from another identity, and the problem was fixed.
The real clincher: while S+C+O fails to zoom out, S+C+O+Shift does!

Ukelele aims to simplify keyboard layout editing by providing a graphical interface to .keylayout files, where the desired characters can simply be dragged onto keys as needed. The .keylayout files may be installed by copying them to the Keyboard Layouts folder within /Library or ~/Library; then they are enabled via the Input Sources (Input in 10.5 and earlier) tab of the Keyboard (Language & Text in 10.9 and earlier, International in 10.5 and earlier) module within System Preferences.

A companion application to Ukelele is Keyboard Juggler Myriad 4 2 1 – audio batch processor windows 10. , available for macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) and later. This is a simple application that allows you to move keyboard layouts in and out of the installation folders without having to use the Finder. It is not needed for Ukelele version 3.3 or later, as its functionality has been incorporated into Ukelele.
